History and Explanation

The Gridiron Digest Poll is one of the most unique polls in all of sports. It equally weighs votes from media members, fans and coaches using the typically “10-9-8” voting-points system (10 points for first-place vote-getters, 9 points for second, 8 for third … and 1 point for tenth-place teams.)

The poll started in 2010 and has been organized by The Gridiron Digest forum and website administrators. Any member can vote, but pollsters have to commit at the beginning of the season to vote for the entire season. It is praised as one of the best all-human polls, compared to the Associated Press and Indiana Football Coach’s Association’s polls.
